Honolulu Chinatown Charm Stacked Coin Baby Quilt

This is my first attempt at quilting. It's a gift for my god-daughter's first baby, soon to be born in Hawaii. I bought the Hawaiian charms (5x5 inch fabric squares) in Honolulu's Old Chinatown. It was sewn in Oregon & is now going back to Hawaii.
I've got lots to learn about quilting so if you have any advice for someone who's using a 35-year old Singer sewing machine, please post your comments. Thanks!
